About

Darkroom is the photography, multimedia and photojournalism blog of the Columbia Daily Spectator. Through Darkroom, Spectator hopes to showcase the work of talented photographers in the Columbia community who have not necessarily committed to journalism, but have a passion for honest and compelling storytelling.

Your Photos

Although intended as an outlet for Spectator photographers, Darkroom welcomes independent submissions. These can include but are not limited to single photographs, photo essays, or multimedia productions.

If you have content and would like to produce a multimedia piece, let us know. The Spectator team is here to learn along with you.

Our mission is to provide meaningful, accurate and unbiased reporting that illustrates and documents a variety of stories relevant to Columbia University and Morningside Heights.

Past coverage has included President Obama's Election Night in Chicago, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit, and a string of features on the Manhattanville expansion.

We are looking for students interested in photography and journalism, but no prior experience is necessary.

If you have any questions, please e-mail us at photo@columbiaspectator.com
